Privacy statement

On www.testdirk.nl you will find explanations for children, to read and to listen to. This privacy statement explains which data we use, why, and what your rights are.
Who are we?
Kinderuitleg is a website of Kinderuitleg, Prieel 17, 1628LS Hoorn, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 123-456-78.9. We are responsible for processing your personal data. You can reach us at info@testdirk.nl.
Children
Children can read the explanations and listen to the free previews without an account. We never ask children for any data. Only a parent or guardian aged 18 or over can create an account and take out a subscription.
Which data do we use?
- Account: name, email address and password. We store your password encrypted (as a hash), so we cannot read it ourselves. We also record when you accepted the terms and conditions.
- Subscription and payments: which subscription you have, until when it runs, amounts and payment status, and the references our payment provider Mollie uses for this. We do not store bank details such as your account number ourselves; Mollie processes those.
- Security: your IP address, briefly, to prevent anyone from endlessly guessing passwords.
- Technical data: as is usual, our hosting provider keeps log files of visits to the server (such as IP address and time).
Cookies
We only use a functional cookie that is needed to keep you logged in and to remember your language. We do not use cookies or other techniques to track you, for third-party statistics or for advertising.
Why do we use your data?
- To manage your account and subscription and give you access to the full audio. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
- To process payments and keep our accounts. Legal basis: performance of the contract and our legal obligation to keep records.
- To send you emails that belong to your account: a payment confirmation, a reminder before your subscription ends, and a link to reset your password. Legal basis: performance of the contract. We do not send newsletters or advertising.
- To protect the website against misuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest.
Who do we share data with?
We never sell your data. We only share it with parties we need to run the website:
- Mollie B.V. processes payments (iDEAL and SEPA Direct Debit) and handles payment data according to its own privacy statement.
We make agreements with these parties about handling your data with care.
How long do we keep your data?
- Account data: as long as your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we will do so within 30 days.
- Payment data: 7 years, as required by law for our accounts.
- Password reset links: valid for 60 minutes.
- Data to prevent misuse: at most one day.
Security
We protect your data with an encrypted connection (https), encrypted passwords, a limit on login attempts and protected storage of our files.
Your rights
You may access, correct or delete your data. You can also object to its use, restrict its use, or request a copy to give to someone else. To do so, email info@testdirk.nl. We will respond within one month.
If you disagree with how we handle your data, please let us know so we can find a solution together. You may also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Changes
If we change this privacy statement, you will see it from the date at the top. For important changes, we will email our subscribers.
